ELTHAM College is seeking a qualified and caring Integration Aide for our Junior School students in a casual employment position.  

The hours available are 7am until 3.30pm, across any of the five days a week. 

This role will support students with disability to ensure as an education provider the college meets The Disability Standards for Education 2005. The Integration Aide will ensure that students with disability, access and participate in education on the same basis as other students. They will support the inclusion of students within the Learning Support program through either direct support or by assisting the classroom teacher in the overall integration process.

What you bring to the role:

  • Certificate III in Education Support/Certificate III in Education (Teacher Aide/Assistant) or an equivalent approved qualification
  • Experience supporting students with specific learning needs, disabilities, and diverse backgrounds in an education environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a team
  • High levels of literacy and numeracy skills, including excellent handwriting and typing skills
  • An ability to work independently supporting students within a variety of subject areas, including in a 1:1 capacity, as required
  • Demonstrated strong organisation and high attention to detail 
  • Ability to utilise IT in supporting students with their learning
  • Ability to be directed to work in a flexible manner, open to daily changes to timetables and programming
  • Awareness, understanding and sensitivity of other cultures and their practices, beliefs, and values 
  • Supports diversity and inclusion and champions inclusivity in a calm, caring and respectful manner
  • Be willing to work as part of a positive and supportive team to achieve the college values
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child safe practices including reporting requirements
