ELTHAM College VET studies in Hospitality and Cookery are offered through our Swipers Gully Training Restaurant, which is open to the public mornings and evenings during school term. The ELTHAM College VCE VET Hospitality program is drawn from a national training package and offers portable qualifications, which are recognised throughout Australia.

Certificate II in Hospitality (Units 1 and 2) provides students with the necessary training and skills for the achievement of competency in food and beverage service. At ELTHAM College we offer a blended delivery in the first year where students gain experience in both front of house and in-kitchen operations.

Certificate II in Cookery allows students to work in the kitchen using a limited range of food preparation and cookery skills to produce food and menus. Students work across a range of kitchen functions and activities in preparation for work in the hospitality industry.

Certificate II in Hospitality (Front of House) allows students to develop the operational skills required for the hospitality industry. Using discretion and judgement they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.
