At ELTHAM we have a number of co-curricular groups and activities that encourage you to be ACTIVE.


3X3 BASKETBALL

ELTHAM participates in the 3x3 Basketball Schools Challenge with Basketball Victoria twice a year. Basketball players from the EEAP program and other elite VJBL representative players are selected to train and the compete for the College. As a school we enter teams in the Junior Division (Year 7 and 8), the Intermediate Division (Year 9 and 10) and the Senior Division (Year 11 and 12).

Available for students in Year 7 – 12.

 

BASEBALL CLUB

Baseball Club is for students of all abilities, whether you want to try baseball or are a seasoned veteran come and have a throw, hit and field where we will run some practice sessions, competitions and games.

Available for students in Year 9 – 12.

EC HOOPS

EC Hoops is an after-school activity for basketball skill development for Year 3 – 6 students. EC Hoops is a training-based program where students are introduced to quality fundamentals of ball handling, footwork, shooting technique etc. to either begin their basketball journey or to enhance their play at club level. The program runs Semester 1 only.

Available for students in Year 3 – 6.

EC ‘JOEY’ HOOPS

EC ‘Joey’ Hoops is an after-school activity for basketball skill development for Prep – 2 students. EC ‘Joey’ Hoops is a training-based program where students are introduced three key skills of basketball - passing and dribbling, footwork and shooting techniques to begin their basketball journey. The program runs Semester 2 only. 

Available for students in Year Prep – 2.

ELITE ATHLETE PROGRAM

Students will be involved in the Elite stream of the EEAP. The Elite Athlete Program provides opportunities, strength and conditioning training and support for students with athletic potential to excel in their chosen sport. There is an application and selection process to participate in the EEAP. The program runs from Term 2 to Term 2 and the application process is advertise and undertaken during Term 1 each year.

Available for students in Year 7 – 12.

EMERGING ATHLETE PROGRAM

Students will be involved in the Emerging stream of the EEAP. Students involved in the Emerging Athlete Program will attend approximately four sessions a term designed to progress their overall performance in the sport of their choice. Students will touch on the topics of body management, movement patterns, recovery, nutrition, mindfulness and more. There is an application and selection process to participate in the EEAP. The program runs from Term 2 to Term 2 and the application process is advertised and undertaken during Term 1 each year.

Available for students in Year 7 – 12.

EQUESTRIAN CLUB

Whether you compete regularly in Equestrian sport or just want to hang out with some like-minded people and talk all things horses Equestrian Club is for you. 

Available for students in Year Prep – 12.

 

GYM SUPERVISION

At certain times before school students can attend the ELTHAM Gym for Gym Supervision. Specific mornings per week, commencing in Term 2, the gym will be available for students to come and use the facilities and work on any individualised programs under teacher supervision. The gym is not available for general access on Tuesday and Thursday as it is used by the Elite and Emerging Athletes Program. Expressions of interest are welcome. Any students intending to join the program must book a time before being able to attend. New enrolment forms are available through the Ace Performance website.

JUNIOR SCHOOL RUNNING CLUB

Running Club for Junior students is held on the hockey pitch before school on a Wednesday.

Available for students in Year 3 – 6.

JUNIOR SCHOOL ATHLETICS SQUAD

After participating in Junior School House events, students are invited and selected to attend training sessions for Athletics. This gives our emerging athletes the opportunity to progress to District, Division, Region and State events.

Available for students in Year 3 – 6.

JUNIOR SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY SQUAD

After participating in Junior School House events, students are invited and selected to attend training sessions for Cross Country. This gives our emerging athletes the opportunity to progress to District, Division, Region and State events. 

Available for students in Year 3 – 6.

JUNIOR SCHOOL SOCCER FUN

Sessions - Wednesday 1.05 - 1.50pm on the soccer oval (Terms 1 & 2 only). 

Available for students in Year 4 – 6.

JUNIOR SCHOOL SWIM SQUAD 

The JS Swim Squad trains twice a week during Terms 2 – 4 at the ELTHAM College Pool.

During Term 2 – 4 this Squad is for students who are at Streamline level 9 or above.

Available for students in Year 3 – 6 (Year 2 by Invitation).

JUNIOR SCHOOL SWIM TEAM

The JS Swimming team trains twice a week during Term 1 in the ELTHAM College Pool.

The JS Swimming Team trains twice a week in Term 1 in preparation for District, Division, Regional and State School Swimming Carnivals.  The final team will be chosen from these training sessions.

During Term 1 this team is by invitation only.

Available for students in Year 3 – 6.

SENIOR ATHLETICS SQUAD TRAINING 

The College Athletics Team trains in the lead-up to the EISM Athletics Carnival, with sessions tailored to different events. Training times and days vary, allowing athletes to focus on their specific disciplines. The Senior Athletics Squad program provides an opportunity to refine skills, improve techniques, and build competition readiness. Open to all students, it’s a great way to challenge yourself and represent the College.

SENIOR CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING 

The Senior Cross Country Squad trains in preparation for the EISM Cross Country Carnival, focusing on endurance, speed, and race strategy. Training sessions vary in location and intensity to build strength and stamina. Open to all students, the squad provides an opportunity to refine running technique and improve overall fitness. Whether aiming for competition or personal goals, all runners are encouraged to participate.

SENIOR SWIM SQUAD

The Senior Swim Squad is a training program designed to prepare swimmers for the EISM Swim Carnival. Held in the College Pool, sessions focus on technique, endurance, and race preparation. Open to all students, the squad provides an opportunity to train alongside peers and work towards qualifying for the College Team. Whether aiming for competition or personal improvement, swimmers of all levels are encouraged to participate. The squad training offers students the opportunity to improve their technique and speed in preparation for House and Inter School Swimming Carnivals.

Available for students in Year 7 – 12.

VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM 

The ELTHAM College Volleyball program is designed to provide all students with an opportunity to learn and develop their volleyball skills in a fun and inclusive environment. The program aims to provide high-quality training sessions to students who want to improve their skills and represent the college in EISM sports and high-level volleyball competitions. Students participating in this program will have the opportunity to be selected to represent ELTHAM College in a variety of competitions, such as EISM Volleyball and annual Volleyball Victoria events.

Available for students in Year 7 – 12.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

WALKING CLUB 

Walking Club gives senior students a chance to stretch their legs, enjoy nature and spend time with friends on a walk around the Environmental Reserve at lunchtime. Bring runners and a water bottle. We will meet in Forum before heading off to the reserve together. Walking Club runs in Terms 2 and 3.
