On Sunday 2 August the Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews, announced further restrictions for the Melbourne metro Local Government Areas and declared Victoria in a state of emergency. The decision to implement tighter restrictions form part of a concerted effort to curb the number of community transmissions of coronavirus currently occurring.
Accordingly, from Wednesday 5 August 2020, all students Prep – Year 12 will return to remote learning. Childcare and kinder services will also close, except for provision for vulnerable children and children of permitted workers. These measures will continue for six weeks to 11:59pm on Sunday, 13 September.
Community members must stay at home, except for four reasons: necessary goods or services; medical care or compassionate reasons; exercise, work and education if necessary.
