ELTHAM College is a proudly coeducational School. Education is not a ‘one size fits all’ proposition and choosing the right school for your child is an important decision.
Coeducation provides students with an authentic and healthy setting for learning to occur and encourages students to develop positive gender relationships, in and out of the classroom.
At ELTHAM, we provide a broad range of activities and experiences, which are tailored to meet the developmental needs of all students. Our programs ensure students learn in, and through a range of diverse environments. We encourage all students, regardless of gender, to explore a range of learning opportunities and interest areas.
We believe that the advantages of coeducation go beyond the classroom setting. A coeducational framework better reflects the diversity of our society and life after school – in further education, the workplace and personal endeavours. At ELTHAM students benefit from learning and working together, both socially and intellectually. Students in a coeducational setting develop confidence to express their views freely in the presence of each other, and provides an excellent foundation for young people to develop respectful relationships.
“At ELTHAM, we value student voice, and developing their advocacy and leadership skills. We believe that a coeducational setting is more effective at facilitating and achieving this. Our focus is on providing experiences that enable all students to shine.”
