General Excellence (Music) Scholarships

Scholarships for General Excellence (Music) are offered to new and current students entering into Years 5, 7, 8 and 9 in 2018 on the basis of audition and interview, who demonstrate outstanding musical ability and achievement in music within and/or beyond the context of school.

The number of General Excellence (Music) Scholarships offered each year is dependent on the quality of applications and the number of places available. Each scholarship attracts a partial reduction in tuition fees as determined by the Principal.

A General Excellence (Music) Scholarship is tenable until the completion of secondary education and is subject to the College’s Conditions of Entry. Periodic performance reviews to assess that the student continues to demonstrate outstanding commitment, effort, progress, involvement, contribution, and influence on peers form part of the terms.

Applications for 2018 scholarships are now closed. To register your interest for the 2019 Scholarship process please contact our Registrar, Liz Dosen, by email registrar@elthamcollege.vic.edu.au

Applications for the General Excellence (Music) Scholarships are made directly to the College using the ELTHAM College General Excellence (Music) Scholarship Application Form (see below).

Please fill in the Application Form and return it to the College together with:

  • A copy of the student’s two most recent school reports
  • A copy of the student’s NAPLAN report(s) completed to date
  • Music reports, awards and other supporting documentation
  • Registration Fee

Auditions are conducted at the College in Term 2 of the year prior to entry. Students are required to play two contrasting pieces or songs. Technical work and sight reading may also be required.

Students who demonstrate outstanding musical ability and achievement will be invited, together with their families, to an interview with the Principal.

A Scholarship for General Excellence (Music) is subject to a periodic performance review which addresses the criteria applicable to all scholarships at ELTHAM College.
