Getting to ELTHAM College

15th Sept 11 (409)

It’s easy to get to ELTHAM College

ELTHAM is situated at the entrance to Melbourne’s most pristine and loved Nillumbik Shire Green Wedge. It is another reason why ELTHAM is so unique: we promote sustainability in our natural environment – and getting here has never been easier.

From Eltham Station

We have a close partnership with Panorama that operates most local bus services and our Charters. There are buses leaving Eltham Station at 7:50am and 7:55am, and two at 8.35am to the College. The 8.35am buses will arrive at College at 8.45am.
Middle Years’ classes, therefore, will commence at 8.50am, rather than 8.45am, with Learning Advisor meetings. This change ensures that students who catch the train or those who live in Eltham South or Central Eltham have easy access and parents do not have to drive to College. This is also a sustainability measure, reducing traffic to and from the College. For students living further into the City and catching the train, it means that the later train is accessible. For example, Flinders St 7.31am, Clifton Hill 7.51am and Ivanhoe at 8.02am. During House Music there are earlier trains that  allow students to be at College by 8.00am or shortly thereafter. Early trains arrive at Eltham Station at 7.36 or 7.55am and buses depart at 7.50am, 7.55am and 8.15am.
Senior Students will still have 8.40am starts, but are mature enough to catch the earlier trains and buses. Junior Year families who may wish to use the later bus service should talk with Sonia Van Hout about bus buddies.
In the afternoon, buses depart College for the Station at 3.45pm, 3.55pm and 4.05pm. Students can then get their train, be collected or walk home.
